Sundial is a modern sundial, showing you the solar and lunar cycle in a handy 24-hour ring. You can create iOS notifications for common events, including dawn, sunrise, solar noon, sunset, dusk, moonrise, lunar noon, moonset, and even the evening of a full moon.
Includes a Today Widget for quick access on the iPhone and an Apple Watch app. The Apple Watch app includes several complications.
Does not require an Internet connection to calculate rise & set times: GPS and built-in algorithms are used.
Pros and cons of Sundial Solar & Lunar Time app for iPhone and iPad
Sundial Solar & Lunar Time app good for
I suppose those those that wrote less than a 5 star review were very early adopters/users of this app. None of the complaints they list were founded (as of this review July-2016). The app works fine. I have no Apple Watch. I have iphone6 and uptodate ios. Alerts are good. Graphic is nice. Thank you. Well done!
For years, Ive been looking for a great app to tell me the times for sunrise and sunset, as well as the moon phase. This is the one. All other such apps are either too gaudy and complex, or very ugly and cheap-looking. This app is perfectly simple and does exactly what I want with the right amount of visualization.
This app works great on iPhone and Apple Watch. Gives an incredible amount of information including Moon transit. I havent been able to find another app that gives this info. I hope the developer will keep it up to date for v3. Why is it free? Am willing to pay for it if it works in AW3!
Thanks for a great app!
This app freeze while trying to open in iOS 9.3, will you solve this problem soon, as this app was functioning well before.
Thanks
Thank you, now this great App is working well, I appreciate if you will add in Lunar alerts NEW MOON RISE DATE & TIME ALERT.
Best regards
Some bad moments
this app is super rad. it allows you to set alerts based on the inclination of the sun and the phase of the moon, rather than standard time alerts. for example; you can have it alert you when theres a full moon, or tell you to get up every day 30 minutes after sunrise if you want.
and its pretty; the way it illustrates the sun and moon phases are really cool.
All of a sudden, the rise and set times for the Sun ceased to work, were set for same time. Tried removing then reloading app, no success either with a strong network signal or wifi.
This app gives me all the information I look for in my watch and iphone. The only thing I dont like is that its location services preference only gives you Always and Never. And Always means Always: it is on at all times. Thats ok for the phone, but I had to take it off the watch, because it was killing the battery.
Otherwise, great app!
This app has the most understandable Solar/Lunar graphic and supporting data I have ever used. Runs great on my iPhone 6+ and iPad. With respect to recommendations to make this app even better, I would like to see a calendar function at the bottom of the display page that would allow me to project ahead (or look back) at the sunrise/set and moonrise/set data (and graphic) for future planning/analysis. As an outdoorsman, I use this app a lot; thanks for developing and sharing this fine product.
First of all, if anybody is really serious about their app, they would provide a way to contact support. NONE! Why? Because the app for the watch (not the glance) crashes when you try to open it!
In addition, there are some changes that also need to be made. When will there be support for remote locations and not just the current location?
Another is in the alerts. It only gives a 2 hour spread in each direction. So if I wanted to use this app for hunting, I cannot. If I want to be out in the forest 3 hours before sunset, it wont tell me (that means an alert going off 4 hours before, so I can shower, drive to the remote location, walk in and get into my tree stand).
Dont get me wrong, great first attempt, but even an email function to notify support that your app is broken with watch 2.0 is needed. Having to put it in a review is just a wrong method of contact!
Hey guys, can you please let us change the alert tone?
Thank you
