It sort of works on an iPad, sometimes, occasionally, usually it doesn’t display correctly. It really should be made to work in iPadOS.

Update- been using this for years now and I still love it. I use this every week to decide how early or late I can walk the dogs or go for a run. I like to watch the moon phases, and it’s easy to do so here. The whole app is easy to use. A lot of data easily readable in one screen. Cool wigets!

This is a nice app, but does not take into account locations with mountains. Where I am at, the sun is just coming up over the mountains, but the app says it was 28 minutes ago. PeakFinder does a much better job.

I have been using Sundial for a few years. It is very accurate and useful. I take many road trips and also do stargazing. The accurate sunrise/sunset times, moonrise/moonset times, and moon phases are invaluable for planning. The ability to look ahead for future planning is a real plus. The format is easy to use and understand with a little practice. Overall highly recommend.

Slick interface, useful information ready to hand. Clear documentation. The paid version has needed features but at a fair price.

My favorite third party app. Been a user since i wanna say 2017? It’s great. Does anybody know if it works on iOS 18? I haven’t upgrade yet but I haven’t seen any updates that explicitly say whether or not iOS 18 is supported watchOS 11 etc. really hope we get an update soon!

I love the amount of information available, it’s fantastic. The custom notifications are great. There’s a plethora of widgets, however, the most obvious one seems to be absent. I would like to see the Developer make a widget that is literally the same 24 hour dial (6 & 18 vertical w/ Noon & Midnight) that I see when I open the app. Open the app, and just cut the dial portion into a widget. It may not be that simple, but that would make this the GOAT.

Once you take the time to see how this app displays the relationship between the sun, moon and the 24-hour day, it becomes at-a-glance simple. Nothing I've seen comes close. I ride my bike every night for an hour commute home, and the moon is only giving light during any given night trip for about 1 week per month. Sundial makes it clear what the position and brightness will be. So make a paid version of this app. It doesn't have to be any better than this, and I will happily buy it. Thank you, excellent work!

I’m a photographer and this app is great for sunrises and sunsets, and moon rises as well. Moon crecents are probably more important than full moons. Altitude and azmuth is all you need to know.

Overall great app, does exactly what it says it will. I do wish it had the option of proper alarms, as I would like to get up just before dawn and see the sun rise, and am a deep sleeper so I need repeated, annoying, LOUD alarms. But idk if Apple actually lets you do that, the way apple’s built-in alarms on the clock app are. Been using this for years. Now that I’m a proper adulting adult, I plan on buying the full version when I’ve got some spare cash. I don’t really need any more features than what’s on the free version, but it’s well worth the use I’ve gotten out of it. (Also fun reading the reviews and seeing you’re kind and ready to fix problems about most but have some self-respect when people are rude! It always bugs me when people are entitled about things they got for free! You’re very justified, keep it up! 😄👍)

The tutorials say you can customize the app , much of what they claim is false. Try to customize the lock screen for example. Does not work, waste of time.

Love this app, I participate in activities that require being at a location before first light and this app has never let me down.

So you’re looking for sunrise and sunset tables, and moonrise and moon set tables, for any date you choose, and any location on earth. This app has it all, with a great UI on top of it all. Totally worth it, so happy I get to pay once for it all. Whoever built this “gets it”.

First thing. This app is purchase, own, done. The creator of this app is a rare person, who respects us. It is well known that we don’t want subscriptions. To keep this short, I’ll just urge you to read the pages in the app. And you’ll see that the creator of Sundial is one of the rare developers that cares about what we want, beyond the functionality of the product. This is a masterfully created piece of software. The GUI is simple and intuitive. Layout and scheme is well thought out and inviting. Practically, the app runs smooth. It’s simple, fun to use and for my use case, makes setting up sunrise, and sunset photography sessions easier. Looking forward to getting to more perfectly timed sky scapes.

Just so cleverly designed. I had two apps one for sun and one for moon. This one does it all. Perfect I even eat my 3 meals according to the sun. Sunrise, solar noon, and sunset. Changes slightly daily and I’m always out enjoying every bit of sunlight.

I use this app daily to sync my meditation times with the path of the sun, it provides lots of information into an easy to read screen. Highly recommended.

Being blind, I think it’s good for me to know what the sun and moon are doing. Until I had this app, it was hard for me to know when it was getting dark and how dark it would be at night based upon the moon’s illumination. For safety reasons, I try not to be out alone for too long in certain places after dark. Besides all that, I think it’s kind of cool and interesting to know what the sun and moon are doing. also, it’s nice to know when the equinoxes and solstices are. Now I think it would be cool to receive notifications about things such as solar and lunar eclipses. Maybe advanced notifications about what time they would be in our area based on current location.

The app says you can test features for 3 days as a trial period. Mine never initiated any 3 day trial so I was not able to test any of the features I wanted like the widgets. Never got to experience it and I’m not paying 12.99 to test if I like the widgets or not. I need to test them before paying.

The “free” version provides less information than your iphone does natively. It gives solar data about 5 or 6 places in the whole world. If you want any location specific data, or really anything else, you have to buy the plan.

I find it fascinating to track and watch the change in astronomical events and patterns as the seasons change. I personally love the patterns created by the earth’s cycles. Would love to have more flexible alerts, like setting annual and monthly alerts for solar and lunar events for my own personal uses. Awesome all all around!

This app always stays on my Home Screen. It uses the best visual representation of the time of day there is. Helps me feel centered when things are hectic.

Too complicated, not user friendly. I bought the sundial app, now the watch app is additional $12.99 Com’on Man

I hesitated when I saw the cost of this app. After owning it for a while I can say it was worth it. The level of detail provided by the app is incredible. One the apps I use everyday because it’s so good.

One of the best apps I’ve ever had tell me where the moon and the sun work together when I work nights, so I can keep track of what time to be home and what time to get to work

I love knowing when the sun rises and this app works great!

App crashing on watch OS 10

I’ve used this for years, almost daily. When I travel, it adjusts to my locale. Knowing the sun timing helps plan my day early, moon phases and rise and set times are good to look ahead for photography opportunities. Thumbs Up!

It's the best app for sun, moon, and stars! There are so many choices for notification sounds. I choose orchestra. The werewolf howl at the full moon is spectacular.

I love that I can set up an alert for Sunrise, mid-morning, Solar noon, mid-afternoon and Sunset. I set an alarm to wake me 2 hours before true Sunrise and I set an alarm to wind-down and sleep no more than 2 hours after sunsets. I love the Moon phases alert as well as the Solstices and Equinoxes. Brilliant app.

Otherwise great app

Great app but the apple watch widgets disappeared. I can no longer view them as dials on my watch. Fix this and 5 stars across the board.

I really like both sun and moon times. Peak times are interesting. Amount of light before rise and after set are handy. So far great.

After paying for the widgets and using them successfully for quite a while they just suddenly stopped working. Restored purchase and all but nothing.

What more is there to say? Been using this app for years and it contains all the functions I need. I esp love the owl and hyena sounds for the alarms.

Can we just by your app one time and be done with it?

This app has been great as an alarm to lock my chickens up at night. The only thing I wish it did was still do the alarm when my phone is on silent.
